Lucky 7: Celebrating another year in The Backroom

And just like that, the Backroom Agency turned 7! Can someone please tell us where the time has gone? Surely it’s only a couple of years since we were moving into our first ‘back room’ over in Dore Village? But no, as hard as it is to believe, that was all the way back in 2016.

A lot has changed since then – in our personal and professional lives, as well as in the world at large. The agency has grown up, and moved from leafy, suburban Dore, to the cool, urban oasis of Kelham Island. And the world at large? It’s perhaps best not to go there! Suffice to say, it’s been a struggle at times, but we’ve pulled through, and seven years after forming, we’re stronger than ever. We’ve managed to grow our agency, against the odds, largely thanks to the referrals and word-of-mouth from our existing and ever-growing client base.

If pressed on the matter, we’d put our ongoing success down to a mix of dogged determination and an absolute commitment to get the right results for our clients.

Because it does take determination, and consistency, to get your name out there in this highly competitive industry. You’ve got to keep knocking on doors, shouting about your successes, and picking up the phone to potential clients. It sounds obvious, but it’s something that agencies can often struggle with. Happily, bending people’s ear has always been one of Andrew’s strengths!

And when it comes to getting the right results for our clients, we pride ourselves on being absolute perfectionists. But that’s not to say we’re solely about crafting an aesthetically gorgeous design, at the expense of use-ability or practicality. To us, a perfectly executed project is one that delivers everything the client has in mind. Whether it’s a new, responsive, multilingual website, an eye-catching animation, a refreshing rebrand or a well-crafted piece of copy, it has to do the job and deliver on the client’s objectives.

This combination of design skill and business acumen, along with the afore-mentioned dogged determination, gives us an edge that our clients really seem to appreciate.

And of course, we’re all about building great relationships with our clients. We’re big believers in the old adage, ‘people buy from people’ and we find that the working day is made so much more pleasant when working with clients we’d be happy to go for a pint (or a backroom coffee!) with.

Which...is all a very long-winded way of saying a HUGE thank you to our incredible clients for working with us and recommending us to others over the last seven years. Here’s to the next lucky seven. May they be happy and prosperous for us all.

If you have a marketing or branding project that you’d like to discuss, just get in touch. The coffee’s always hot, and the door to the Backroom is always open.
