Granton Medical

Sheffield-based company Granton Medical have been at the forefront of the medical devices industry for generations. In fact, they started their journey in 1601, manufacturing blades, scissors and other surgical instruments.

These days, their business is all about manufacturing and supplying an almost infinite range of safe, sterile packaging for the medical devices industry.

Following significant investment to improve their production capability, Granton Medical invited us to look at refreshing their branding with new photography, online presence, brochures & packaging.

We developed a contemporary look and feel which reflects Granton’s commitment to quality and continuous innovation. We used clean lines, pale greens and plenty of white space to evoke the sterile, surgical nature of their products. However, we combined those elements with a warm tone of voice and plenty of people images to reflect the importance Granton
place on their relationships.

Granton Medical were thrilled with the outcome of the rebrand and we thoroughly enjoyed working with the team.

This is a truly innovative company, with first-class products a long and unique local heritage. And now they look pretty good too!

Whitehead Commercial Interiors

Whitehead Commercial Interiors have been providing bespoke interior solutions for commercial clients since 1991, when they were known as Ian Whitehead Contract Furnishing.

Since then, they’ve developed an enviable reputation and are well-known in the industry for their unerring attention to detail, which enables every client’s vision to be fully realised.

Over the years they’d developed a number of subsidiary brands and they turned to the Backroom for help in bringing all these under a single brand name – Whitehead Commercial Interiors.

We were invited to review all the company’s branded materials, and we started by developing a new identity and introducing a strapline. We presented a fresh, new brand identity which was design-led yet accessible, with strong visual elements that would allow the quality of their work to shine through.

The rebrand was followed by the design and build of a new website for Whitehead Commercial Interiors. The attractive and contemporary new site allows them the freedom to update and add new content themselves, which had been a source of frustration with their previous site. It's now the perfect platform to showcase stunning images of their recently completed projects.

Lastly, we created a suite of glossy case study brochures to sit alongside the website as a tangible design portfolio.

Just like Whitehead Commercial Interiors, we pride ourselves on high design standards and exceptional attention to detail. The result is a brand identity and materials which are just as bespoke, detailed and exceptionally finished as their own projects.

Replin by Hainsworth

Replin By Hainsworth is one of the world’s leading designers and manufacturers of quality fabric for national and international transportation. Owned by AW Hainsworth, Replin manufacture all of their products from the historic Hainsworth woollen mill based in Pudsey, West Yorkshire.

Producing technically advanced, bespoke designed and engineered products, they work closely with customers from some of the world’s leading rail and airline companies. For various reasons, the company’s brand awareness and position in the marketplace had started to suffer in recent years. They knew they needed to re-establish the brand, and differentiate Replin by Hainsworth from its competitors in a positive way, so they turned to the Backroom Agency for help.

The team at Replin by Hainsworth provided a comprehensive brief, which really helped set the tone for the whole project. They knew exactly what they wanted to be known for – their textile expertise and technical capability.

We worked closely with the team to achieve this objective by developing a fresh, new corporate identity. We knew the styling should be clean, timeless and distinctive, with imagery that focused on the detail of their fabrics.

With the new look and feel in place, we set about applying it across all collateral from digital, corporate video, shade cards, brochures and brand guidelines.

Imagery plays a big part in the new-look Replin by Hainsworth brand, so we knew we had to get this element just right. We brought in our photographer for a full, on location shoot, and directed all aspects of it to make sure we got the shots the client was looking for. We think the results speak for themselves, and more importantly, the client was thrilled with the outcome of the project.
